Trip to The Matthew – Voyager

Wed 22nd Mar 2023
8:45am - 3:15pm

Event Details

We are delighted to inform parents that we have organised a day trip for Class Voyager on Wednesday 22nd March 2023.

This will enhance their learning on their new enquiry question ‘Why did Europeans Explore?’ This is a history-based enquiry about the Age of Exploration during the 15h and 16th centuries, so a visit to The Matthew is a fantastic way to bring our learning to life and will provide an invaluable insight into this historical era. We will be sailing on ‘The Matthew’ through the Bristol harbour and then taking the children to the M Shed and having lunch there.

The coach will leave at approximately 9.15am and should return by the end of the school day, therefore any arrangements regarding Breakfast or After School cub can remain unchanged.

Children should wear normal school uniform and MUST have a warm coat as we will be outside throughout the day. They will need to bring a packed lunch and children entitled to FSM can request a packed lunch from the school. If you require this option please speak to a member of the School Office team.

The cost of the trip will be £21.95 per child, which covers the cost of the activities and the coach travel. Children in receipt of Pupil Premium funding will have the cost of this trip met by the school, however parents will still need to give permission via ParentPay for them to participate in the trip. We hope parents will understand that should we not receive sufficient funds to cover the cost of the trip, we will have to cancel. The school has no provision to subsidise the trips.

Deadline for permission & payment is Sunday 12th March 2023.
