Week 4
It has been another busy week. The children have been writing up their adventure stories set in the jungle. They have worked hard editing and improving their stories and have since completed their final drafts. They have been writing about searching for lost cities, temples and statutes to name but a few things. The teachers have really enjoyed reading their exciting adventure stories.
In science this week, the children have been finding out more about how materials change state. They went outside and looked for the answers to questions about the three states of water which were dotted around the field. They found the answer to questions such as what is the prcoess whereby water turns into ice, at what temperature water boils and what is the name of water in its gaseous state. Great fun was had by all following the clues and searching for the answers.
In our project lesson this week, the children used globes and atlases to find the places that the famous 16th century explorer Ferdinand Magellan visited when he circumnavigated the world.
And finally we ended the week celebrating Red Nose Day. It was wonderful to see the children either in their super hero costumes or wearing something red. Some of the children who had P.E. today held wacky relay races and had great fun skipping, side stepping and bunny hopping to victory.
