Term 1 Week 1

Welcome back!

We hope you have had a great summer break and we are so glad to welcome you back to school. Our teachers have loved getting to know our year 3s this week and catching up with our year 4s. Below are some key dates for this term:

Chandra swimming: Monday 16th September (swimming kit and packed lunches required).

Wow day with visitor Friday 20th September.

Meet the teacher: year 3 Thursday 5th September. Year 4 Tuesday 10th September.

As citizens we have focused on a book ‘We’re all wonders’ learning that everyone has differences and what makes us a ‘wonder’. We drew portraits and designed posters as well as creating a poem inspired by the book.


We had the opportunity to practice our oracy and performance skills when reading our poems to the class.

Our history enquiry for terms 1 & 2 is ‘who was the greatest monarch of the Tudor age?’. We discussed what we already know about the tudors as well writing down questions that we would like to find the answer to. As a class we dissected the words ‘greatest’ and ‘monarch’ to really understand our enquiry question.

As the weather has been a little rubbish this week we have made the most of getting to know the children in our class and building relationships. We enjoyed having fun outside of our lessons together.
