Term 3 – Week 2
What a great week!
As scientists this week we learnt all about the bones in our bodies and the scientific words for them.
In English this week we have been writing a character description all about Edward Tulane. We started off identifying the features in a WAGOLL then we enjoyed learning about how to describe his personality and appearance.
When reading the WAGOLL we looked at our fluency rubric to see how we could better ourselves as readers.
After writing our character descriptions, we used tracing paper to help with our editing skills. It helped us to focus on specific features whilst still being able to see our original learning.
As part of our enquiry we discovered the counties of England. We used compass points to describe their place in relation to each other.
As linguists we enjoyed starting to learn about where we live and being able to describe the houses in French.
In maths we have recapped our place value knowledge and learning to multiply 2 digit numbers by 1 digit.
As citizens, our theme this term is, ‘Dreams and Goals.’ We started to think about dreams this week by reading the story of Michael Jordan. When he was younger he was told he would never be a good basketball player but he certainly proved people wrong. His story tells us that patience and hard work were the things that helped him persevere. We then thought about our own dreams…
As athletes we have continued with our balancing skills on a line. This week we used lines and then benches to improve our skills.
