Term 3 Week 4

It’s been another great week in year 3 and 4!

As mathematicians we explored equivalent fractions using strips of paper to help us make visual comparisons. Once we had created and matched our fractions, we looked closely at the relationships between them and discussed the patterns we could see.

As writers, we continued our work with The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. Using our growing knowledge of the story, we made predictions about what might happen next—ideas that will soon become the foundations of our own stories. We also stepped into the role of Edward himself through hot-seating, allowing the children to ask questions about his thoughts and feelings and deepen their understanding of character.

As athletes, we continued exploring movement through dance. This week’s focus was on working with a partner to create coordinated standing shapes, floor shapes, and smooth transitions between the two. The teamwork, balance, and creativity on display were wonderful to see!
