Term 3 Week 6

We have had a wonderful and very busy term in year 3 / 4.

During the final week, pupils took part in Children’s Mental Health Week, exploring why looking after our mental wellbeing is so important. Through class discussions and activities, we talked about what helps us feel safe, how a sense of belonging supports our emotional health, and the different ways we can look after ourselves and support others.

We also marked Internet Safety Day with thoughtful conversations about how to stay safe online. Children learned what to do if they encounter something worrying or upsetting, and how to make sensible choices when using technology. In addition, we discussed the benefits, risks and appropriate use of AI. We were also treated to some year 6 visitors reading a story to underline some of the topics we had discussed.

As athletes, the children had a fantastic opportunity to try out Kurling this week, learning the skills and techniques behind this exciting Winter Olympic sport. The children showed brilliant teamwork and determination as they took turns sliding their stones and aiming for the target. It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and having fun while discovering a new activity linked to real Olympic events.
