Thank you to everyone for taking part in our Reading Week and dressing up for World Book Day, we loved seeing your costumes.
Also on World Book Day, we watched some of our teachers take part in ‘The Masked Reader’. It was great fun to guess who was behind the book.
On Friday, we participated in a stop and read day where we stopped what we we doing and enjoyed a book.
As mathematicians, we had an exciting lesson for math day! We recapped our knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes then made them out of spaghetti and marshmallows.
We also continued to practice our division skills with the help of place value counters and dienes.
This week in our English lessons, we are working towards writing a diary entry in the role of Varjak. We read some more of our book, deepened our knowledge of expanded noun phrases with prepositions and finally planned our diary entry.
As athletes, we have started a new topic: gymnastics. We learnt balances, jumps and different rolls.
In our tennis lesson, we continued practicing our throwing and catching skills and improved our knowledge of the game tennis.
As scientists, we understood that different materials can change state when heated or cooled. We observed ice melting and steam/condensation coming out of a kettle.
