Term 4 – Week 3
Who can guess what we’ve been learning this week?
Thank you to everyone for the effort put into World Book Day this week. We loved seeing all of the costumes.
Thank you also to those children who entered our book in a box competition, we were blown away with the entries.
As scientists we were able to name all the different food groups and sorted which foods belonged where. We took our learning further by describing the main nutrients that the food types provide. As a class we also investigated the food pyramid and discussed what the purpose of each group is.
As artists we learnt how to mono print using tin foil and cotton buds. We also started to create our own stencils of the Union Jack flag ready to print using polystyrene.
As writers we read more of our book The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane ready to create our own chapter to extend the ending of the book next week.
In year 3 maths we have continued learning about fractions and enjoyed using different resources to consolidate and further our learning. We identified which fractions were greater or smaller.
As linguists we learnt about different clothes in French. We sang along to a song and checked our learning. We then designed our own outfits and labelled the clothes in French.
