Term 3 – Week 5
Another fantastic week!
As geographers this week we have been learning about where in Europe we are. We used maps, atlases and referred to our 8-point compass to help us. We discussed continents and know that there are seven continents. We live in the continent of Europe but are no longer part of the European Union which is a group of countries in Europe that work together.
We also watched a video all about our capital city, London. We found out lots of information like how many people live there, modes of transport and famous landmarks.
In our science lesson we learn more about muscles and how we control them. We learnt about voluntary and involuntary muscles.
As artists we used our knowledge of printing to draw a design and create our first print using tin foil and cotton buds.
As writers we have started to learn about persuasive devices ready to write an advert for a ship of our creation. We have loved being creative and using our imaginations to design a ship.
At the beginning of the week we researched the ship the Tulane family travelled on which was RMS Queen Mary. We were researchers and found out lots of information then we shared this information with our friends to see if we could learn more using ‘Go Go Mo’.
In maths we have continued with our learning of measurement and have focused on equivalent measurement.
