Term 5 Week 2

We have had a fantastic second week back, full of enthusiasm, energy and purposeful learning.

As writers, we have been inspired by our class text This Morning I Met a Whale. The children have engaged thoughtfully with themes of environmental damage and the impact of human actions on animals and the natural world. This has led to some excellent discussion as we began planning persuasive arguments demanding that more is done to protect our environment and wildlife. Pupils have demonstrated a strong understanding of persuasive devices, making effective use of emotive language to strengthen their viewpoints.

In geography, we have launched our new enquiry, How similar are Spain and the UK? We have been comparing the physical and human features of both countries, exploring maps and examining topography to deepen our understanding of similarities and differences between the two locations.

As athletes, we have been having great fun learning to play rounders. The children have been developing their throwing, catching and batting skills, while also beginning to understand tactics and teamwork. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and enjoyment grow.
