Week beginning 14th March
Happy Red Nose Day! Thank you for all of your contributions towards this fund raising event. It was great to see so many children sporting red tops, noses etc.
This week in English the children have writing suspense stories. They have set their stories in a variety of settings including the beach, wood, abandoned manor houses and ruins. Their characters have found a precious object then faced a threat which they have overcome.
In art the children have been working on colour. They have used the primary colours to mix both secondary and tertiary colours. Looking carefully at a painting of irises by Van Gogh, they have then created their own interpretations mixing colours and different shades. We have discovered that Van Gogh used complementary colours to paint this picture.
