Week beginning 24th January

This week Glenda, who is  a senior nurse, came into school to tell us all about x rays. Following a presentation, we discovered lots of interesting facts about x rays. We learned that the x ray was first discovered in 1895 by a German called Wilhelm Roentgen. X rays are invisible beams of electromagnetic radiation that can pass through the human body. Bones show up on an x ray because the rays can not pass through them. We also discovered that when we are young, our bones are still growing and that they fuse together when we are 20. We would like to thank Glenda for coming into visit us and telling lots of interesting facts. Week beginning 24th January Week beginning 24th January Week beginning 24th January

Following this visit, we went on to draw some dancing skeletons using chalks on black paper, created some posters and finally made an x ray jigsaw of a human body.
