Term 1
Term 1
An exciting and active term 1 at Uphill! We’ve had a lovely few weeks filled with lots of movement and games. Please read below to see what we have been up to!
Please click below to see the North Somerset ‘Feel Fab Autumn Challenge’. These activities are a positive way of helping us stay active, benefiting our health and wider wellbeing. Activities can be completed in any order and try and complete as many as you can! If you complete 6 from the list, remember to show Miss Arnall for your certificate.
EYFS/Year 1- This term whilst they settle in to school, EYFS and Year 1 have been enjoying doing ‘RealPE’ inside, looking at the ‘personal cog’ which helps us think about our effort and achievements. We enjoyed going on a ‘bike adventure’! EYFS have also loved developing their gross motor skills on the track and climbing equipment.
Year 2- Alongside their ‘RealPE’ sessions, Year 2 have been practising their hand ball skills which can be applied to lots of different games and sports.
Year 3/4- Whilst Chandra class have been swimming alongside their ‘RealPE’ lessons, the rest of 3/4 have been doing tag rugby on the field this term.
Year 5/6- Year 5/6 have been enjoying a term of hockey (when it has not been too wet!). We’ve seen some amazing ball control and different skills being applied in lessons.
Cross Country
One of the highlights of this term was our NSSPEA Cross Country Event! Children from Year 5 and 6 travelled to Sidcot School for the event and showed incredible perseverance whilst being super representatives for Uphill.
Everyone cheered each other on and encouraged their friends to keep going. Despite it being about beating personal bests and having fun, we did also have four children who got through to the inter-area event at which they will get to represent North Somerset. Incredible!
Bike Ability
Year 6 have completed Bike Ability this term. They were all amazing and are now safe to ride on the roads! They were also awarded with a certificate and a badge.
