Term 6
Term 6
What a fantastic and active end to our school year it has been! Term 6 has been packed full of events, activity and achievement across all year groups.
🏅 KS1 & KS2 Sports Days
Both our KS1 and KS2 sports days were brilliant! The sun was shining (in the afternoon) and the field was buzzing with cheering and big smiles. They took part in a variety of fun and challenging activities to earn as many house points as possible. Thank you to all the families who came along to support!

🏃 CLF Festival of Sport
Some of our pupils had the opportunity to represent the school at the CLF Festival of Sport, joining other schools for a day filled with physical activity and new sports. It was a great chance for children to try something different and some new experiences.

🐻 Year 2 Rugby with Bristol Bears
This term, our Year 2s were lucky to take part in weekly rugby sessions delivered by coaches from the Bristol Bears Community Foundation. These sessions were a fantastic introduction to the sport, focusing on fun, teamwork, and developing fundamental movement skills through tag rugby games and activities. The children absolutely loved working with the professional coaches and showed great enthusiasm and progress each week!

🏏 Girls’ Cricket Tournament
A huge well done to our girls’ cricket team who played brilliantly at the Dynamo’s tournament at Uphill Cricket Club. Their teamwork and skills took them all the way to the County Finals in Clevedon – a massive achievement! The girls showed great sportsmanship and resilience throughout and were awards with a wooden bat and ball set because of this.

🏃National School Sports Week
As part of National School Sports Week, we embraced the theme of getting every child more active! Our Year 3 and 4 pupils had an exciting opportunity to attend an Outdoor and Adventurous Festival, where they challenged themselves with new activities – including archery, which was a huge hit!

Back at school, we enjoyed a whole-school Wake and Shake session on the playground, getting everyone moving and smiling first thing in the morning. Throughout the week, classes also took on the challenge of adding extra active minutes into each day, from movement breaks to active learning sessions and running as many laps around the track as we could!

💪 Year 5/6 Fun Fitness with NSSPEA
Year 5 and 6 had an amazing time participating in a Fun Fitness session led by NSSPEA.

🌟 After-School Clubs
KS1 Sports Club gave our youngest pupils the chance to try different activities and build their confidence and skills.

Dodgeball Club was full of laughter – with great dodging, throwing, and teamwork on show!

Cross Country Club pushed our runners to improve their stamina, build resilience and enjoy running outdoors in the sun.
