Term 1 Week 2
Week 2
This week, the children have begun to get used to routines and expectations and have impressed us with how well they can settle down and get on with their work. It’s a real step up for the Year 5s but so many of them are rising to the challenge.
As mathematicians, both Year 5 and 6 have been revising elements of place value – including ordering and comparing numbers. The Year 6 groups enjoyed some loop card activities to secure their learning, while the Year fives used counters to represent numbers up to six digits.

As scientists, we revisited some learning about electricity from previous years, created some simple circuits and then learned about the universal symbols used to draw circuit diagrams.

As athletes, we practiced our ball handling skills in the hall.
