Term 1 Week 2
Another busy and productive week in Year 5 /6! Our classes have continued to demonstrate fantastic hard work, enthusiasm and determination across all areas of learning.
As writers, we have been preparing for next week’s non-chronological report about Howard Carter. We have explored the features of formal, objective writing and have been developing our use of relative clauses and the passive voice to enhance our reports.
As mathematicians, we have been focusing on rounding numbers to the nearest million. The children have shown great confidence when tackling a range of fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions, applying their understanding in different contexts.
As athletes, we have been developing our hockey skills, concentrating on balance, ball control and coordination. It has been wonderful to see the children working collaboratively and showing perseverance as they refine their techniques.

As historians, we have been looking at different Egyptian sources and making interpretations about them! A special thank you to Theo for bringing in some of his ancient artefacts for us to explore too!

It has been another great week, and we are incredibly proud of the effort, positivity and enthusiasm that the children bring to their learning every day. We look forward to another exciting week ahead!
