Term 1 Week 3
As an “everybody” school all of our year 6’s have the opportunity to become a prefect. However, if they take the badge, they accept the responsibility that goes with it. Delighted that ALL our year 6 children took a badge pledging to be outstanding role models in our community
As readers, we have explored chapter 3&4 of Secrets of a Sun King. We have answered retrieval and inference questions, using the text to find evidence and support our answers.
As writers, we have researched and planned a non-chronological report about Howard Carter and the discovery of Tutenkhamun’s tomb in 1922.
As historians, we have ordered key events of the Egyptian period. We identified the stages of the mummification process and even mummified some tomatoes!
As scientists, we have explored the life cycle of human beings. It was fun to predict what we might look like as adults and used AI to generate images of how we could look in the future.
As athletes, we have continued developing our dribbling and passing skills in hockey.
We are so proud of our year 6 children who prepared and delivered speeches with the hope of becoming our new house captains. They were eloquent, passionate and enthusiastic. The children across the school will vote tomorrow to choose their new leaders – good luck all.
