Term 2 Week 1
Welcome back!
It was great to have everyone back this week and launch straight back into learning. We introduced our new enquiry, the Romans, and started our new science topic about forces.
As readers, we began two new books. In English we are reading Roman Quests: Escape from Rome and as our afternoon read (part of the Just Read project) we are reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. This later book is a really challenging text for Year 5/6, but we spend time exploring vocabulary and summarise after every read. Despite the high level, the children are really engaged and are enjoying the character, Ebeneezer Scrooge.

As athletes, we have been practising our ball handling skills in the hall as we start our new unit of Netball.

As artists, we enjoyed creating pieces that reflected our personal understanding of the term ‘community’. This was for a competition around our CLF ‘Takeover’ of Ashton Gate for the 14th December Bristol Bears match against Section Paloise. Winning entries will have their art work shown on the big screen and receive free tickets for the match.
