Term 2 Week 3

Year 5/6 have had a really good week of learning and have produced some great work, including our next piece of writing based on our book ‘Roman Quests: Escape from Rome’.  With this, they wrote a letter in role as the main character to his parents.

As speakers, all three classes performed poems about remembrance to the school during Monday’s whole school assembly. They had rehearsed lots and produced really polished, poignant readings. Well done to all of them.

As scientists,  we were studying water resistance and conducted an experiment testing the speed that different shaped objects fell through water.

The Year 5s had a visit from a choral singing coach, who took them through songs they are preparing to perform at the Winter Gardens in December.  It was a fun session and really helped get the children started with rehearsing the songs.

On Thursday, we had a visit from the PCSOs who discussed the age of criminal responsibility with Year 5/6 and the importance of responsible behaviour on social media.
