Term 3 Week 1

Welcome to Term 3!

It was really nice to welcome the children back on Tuesday after the Christmas break and good to hear about what everyone got up to – particularly hearing about any new books they’d received!

This term we continue with our enquiry, ‘How did the Roman Empire rule?’. We will be learning about the invasion of Britannia and the legacy the Romans left behind.  We’ll look forward to sharing some of this during our presentation of learning on Thursday 12th February at 2:15 in the school hall.

As historians this week, we researched the types of  buildings the Romans created around the empire, what they were used for and named some famous examples.

As citizens, we read the No Outsiders book, ‘You’re So Amazing,’ about a boy with a disability who feels he is being treated differently to other children. We reflected on how people living with disabilities might like to be treated and what we could do in our school to make it more accepting and inclusive.

Term 3 Week 1

As philosophers, this term we are learning about the second largest religion in the world – Islam. We have started to understand some of the key features of the religion, including Allah, Muhammad and the five pillars of the faith.
