Term 3 – Week 5

Week 5

Another great week in Year 5/6.  The Year 6s completed all of their practice SAT papers and proved that they are making strong progress in all areas.  Completing old papers really works and the children’s confidence is growing all the time.  It’s all really good preparation for secondary school.

Change of date

Last week, we shared the Year 6 parents SATs meeting at 2:45 on Monday.  This date has changed.  Please note, the SAT briefing will now be at 2:45 on Monday 3rd March. As before, all Year 6 parents are welcome to attend (the children will join from their classes with all of their home things so they can leave with you at the end).

We will cover the dates of SATs, the papers and outline how we can best prepare the children.

Our learning this week…

As scientists, we were exploring the similarities and difference between plant cells and animal cells.  We practiced making clear, well labelled scientific diagrams and discussed how these have a different purpose to artistic drawings.
