Week 1

It has been lovely to welcome the children back to term 4 and to finally see a bit of sunshine.  We’ve been straight back to it and enjoyed some fresh new topics.

As scientist, this term we are learning about evolution and inheritance.

As geographers, we have moved onto the rivers element of our enquiry, ‘How Does Our World Rage’

As citizens, we explored the book My Shadow is Pink and discussed tolerance and respect.  The children wrote some lovely letters to ‘The boy in the dress’, demonstrating great empathy and acceptance.

As readers, we read more of our book, Floodland, and tried some drama to recreate scenes involving the gangs in the story. We made connections with other stories and films involving gangs and discussed how some gangs can make us feel.

We look forward to welcoming Year 6 children and parents to the hall at 2:45 on Monday for our KS2 SATs briefing.
