Term 4 Week 2
Week 2
Year 5/6 have enjoyed lots of activities based around World Book Day this week, including The Masked Reader (guessing the adult who was reading), decorating Starbucks cups in the ‘Starbooks’ activity and producing some incredible masks of their own for our mask competition. Well done to all who got involved.
In week two, Year 5 and 6 have continued to explore their line of enquiry: rivers. As geographer, they learnt and labelled the features of rivers.
As writers, we split the Year 5s and the Year 6s into separate groups this week so the Year 6s can concentrate on preparing for SATs. The Year 5s explored explanation texts in preparation for writing their own explanation of the journey of a river next week.
As citizens, we are learning about ‘Healthy Me’. This week we discussed how we respect our bodies and then complete a quiz to test our understanding of smoking and vaping.
As computer scientists, we collected data from rolling dice and wrote down our results before we explored how great spreadsheets can be. We then entered our data into Excel.
