Term 6 Week 3
Week 3
This week has been a case of battling on with lessons and rehearsals despite the temperature soaring in the afternoons. The children have been great and tried their best despite the discomfort.
As writers, the children were retelling the story of Demeter and Persephone. This was a good opportunity to pull on their previous learning and be creative with their descriptive writing. We’re really pleased with how seriously they took the task – they were determined to cover everything on the rubric and exercise their skills.
As mathematicians, the Year 6 children continued working through maths mysteries which pull together skills they have learned throughout KS2, while the Year 5s have been recapping and extending arithmetic skills in preparation for Year 6.
As athletes, the Year 5s practiced some throwing skills using a rotation of activities around the field.
