Term Six Week 2
What a scorching – hot week it has been! Whilst the sun has been shining down on us and we have been trying to keep cool, we have enjoyed another successful week in Year 5 and 6.
As readers, we explored the characters in our quality text ‘Demeter and Persephone’ and carried out a hot-seating activity to really gain an insight into the grandmother character.
This activity equipped us well to then write in role as the grandmother who had kindly welcomed a stranger in need into her home. We started off our diary entries using the WAGOLL (what a good one looks like)
As artists, we worked hard and creatively to produce some colourful, 2D Ancient Greek temples:
In history, we used the computers to research information about the Ancient Greek City States which we then used as the reasons ino ur whole-class debate as to which City State was the best to live in. The voted winner was Athens due to its arts and culture. We developed our oracy discussion skills.
