Term Two Week 2
Well, it certainly has been a showery week and we’ve had a few wet play times for sure!
Despite the changeable weather, we have enjoyed many successful learning opportunities in Year 5 and 6 this week. As writers, we have been working on producing A survival guide to the Stone Age Forest (using Michelle Paver’s Wolf Brother for inspiration). We used mini whiteboards to draft our ideas before writing them into our English books as well as using rubrics as a checklist as to what we have to include to make them good quality.
Developing our skills as calculating totals using money and then working out how much change we are owed, is a key skill as mathematicians. Look at us in Year 5 carrying out our calculations on our whiteboards and with our talk partners.
.
In Year 6, we have been investigating squared and cubed numbers.
As designers, we completed our Stone Age pouches and were very proud of them!
