Term Two Week 4
The last full week of November already! It is always wonderful to be able to celebrate children’s own personal interests both in and out of school.
Lauren received a Blue Peter badge in the post week for writing a book report in her own time and sending it off to the program’s producers.
Lily-Rose shared her acting achievements out of school.
And Bobby continues to demonstrate a passion for the outdoors and wildlife: he is often found using twigs and leaves to create original designs.
As readers, we continue to use a quality text as the stimulus for writing and also, enjoy reading a book for pleasure as whole class.
It is great to pair up weekly with younger children across the school to share books, read aloud to each other and promote that real love of reading.
Some of our Year 6s stepped up to the challenge of becoming e-safety champions this week. They will work alongside Mr Clark in ensuring e-safety is a priority for us at Uphill – this will include planning and delivering some Key Stage assemblies next year.
As historians, we used our knowledge of Stone Age innovations to write persuasive speeches to encourage the audience to think about the reasons as to why these were the most impactful inventions. The speeches were delivered to children in Years 3 and 4.
