Term 1- Week 4
Week 4
What a busy week we have had in Year 2!
This week in our project ‘Where in the world are we?’ we have been looking at human and physical geographical features and comparing them. We sorted them in to groups and next week will look at what features we have in Uphill and Weston.
In maths this week we have been continuing place value. We have been exploring partitioning numbers in to tens and ones in different ways.
In science we recapped our knowledge of how atoms are arranged differently to make up the different matters. We then looked closely at solids and observed the different properties of a range of solids. We found that although they are all solids, some were hard, some were squishy, some were malleable.
This week in our English lessons we continued our class book, ‘The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch’. We made up actions to help us verbally retell the story and then drew a story S. After that, we innovated our story using our own ideas. We made sure we had brilliant story language, lots of adjectives and we produced some fantastic pieces of writing!
Our second cricket session with the cricket coach consisted of some super fun bowling practice and some more catching practice. We had tp remember to keep our arm straight as we bowl. We had to ‘star, rockstar, release!’
We cannot wait to see what fun and exciting learning we get to do next week!
