We had such a lovely walk around Uphill on Tuesday! Everybody walked beautifully and took in all of the geographical features of Uphill. The children identified physical and human features in our environment and took pictures of what they could see. When we got back we learnt all about New Delhi in India and then compared what it is like there to life in Weston.
It was ‘No Pens Day’ on Wednesday which means we did not use our pencils all day and concentrated on speaking and listening! In maths we recapped adding and subtracting using dienes and in English we did a retell of The Snail and The Whale using lots of actions and story language. We also had the opportunity to do show and tell where we asked lots of questions and practiced our speaking and listening skills.
In maths this week we have been learning all about adding and subtracting 2 digit numbers, with and without exchanging.
After our retelling of The Snail and the Whale on Wednesday, we then innovated the story to make it our own. We created new ideas for a problem and resolution and began to write our own version of the story.
In Science we have learnt about the different states of water. We learnt lots of new vocab and pretended we were the particles in the water changing state.
