Term 1- Week 1

Week 1

What a lovely first week of the year! It has been a pleasure welcoming the children into Year 2 and they have amazed us with how well they have settled in.

As citizens this week, both Pluto and Jupiter created their own class charter. We thought about our whole school rules and what we would like as our class ones on our charter.

This week as writers we have recapped nouns and adjectives. We had great fun going on a ‘noun hunt’ and describing our friends! We then learnt and practised how to use commas in a list.

As mathematicians this term we are doing place value. We started this week by making numbers within 100 using tens and ones. We enjoyed making numbers with different resources.
