Term 1- Week 2
Week 2
What an exciting week in Year 2! We have enjoyed building our scarecrow this week ready for the Uphill scarecrow festival this weekend.
As Scientists, we have been learning about matter. We discussed how all matter is made of atoms and how they are different in solids, liquids and gases. We used cheerios to represent the atoms in each.

As Mathematicians, we have been partitioning numbers to 100 into tens and ones. We have used place value charts and part whole models.

As readers, we have been looking at a new book called ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’. We have been exploring different adjectives to describe the different characters and enjoyed showing these through freeze frames.

As athletes we’ve had a great time using rock, paper, scissors to practise our footwork. We had to move in different ways depending on whether we won or lost.
