Term 1 Week 2

We have just completed our first full week! 

We have been really impressed with how the children have settled into year 2 and how independent they are with coming into class.

As mathematicians, we have been looking at numbers to 100. We have been thinking about the value of the digits and how many 10s and 1s each number has. We have used different mathematical equipment to show the value of a number as well as write the digits in a written form.

As writers, we have been thinking about nouns and adjectives. We started the week with a noun hunt around the school. We then used these nouns over the week to write sentences using adjectives to describe them.

As citizens, we read the no outsiders book ‘All are Welcome’ we talked about how everyone is welcome, wanted, included and unique in year 2 and that we are all welcome.
