We had a very special visitor this week join us in Year 2 from the RNLI. Sally came in and spoke to us all about water safety and how to be safe in our local area. Sally also told us lots of information about the RNLI along with showing us uniforms and flags.
In Year 2 we love reading our book The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch. This week we have had the chance to innovate the story with our own ideas. All of them were very imaginative and we are becoming expert writers.
As mathematicians we have been learning through number lines this week using lots of different resources. We also had a go at attempting estimating the length of a line with out number line knowledge.
When being scientists this week we continued our learning of solids and measured their length and mass. We also had the opportunity to look back at our learning from week 1 to see if our original thoughts and ideas have changed.
As artists we have been focusing on line and shape. This week we were able to draw a real life object trying to make it as realistic as possible using a variety of techniques.
