Term 1 Week 6
This week is children’s mental health week!
As citizens, we have been thinking about mental health. We discussed what it is and how we need to look after our mental health just like we look after our physical health. We discussed times that we might feel worried or sad and what we could do to change the way we think and feel. We finished by listing people who we could talk to and who could help and created a high 5 for ourselves as a reminder.

As scientists, we have continued to learn about the 3 states of matter. This week, we thought about solids and investigated the statement ‘Solids are hard’. We concluded that this statement is sometimes true because solids like a whiteboard and a chair are hard but solids such as playdough and feathers are soft.

As mathematicians, we have been comparing numbers and objects using the greater than >, less than < and equal to = symbols.

As athletes, we have been focusing on balance and control using our feet. We created mirror images of a partner which centred around the skill of balancing on one foot.
