Term 1 Week 8
Happy Half Term!
As writers, we edited and then published our own versions of the lighthouse keepers lunch. We had great fun designing a front cover, writing the story and we even added page numbers too! Mrs Allsopp came over to see our stories and then we took them home to share with our loved ones and were really proud of our achievements.

As scientists, we have been learning about how temperature is measured. We learned that it is measured in degrees Celsius. We used thermometers to accurately measure the temperature in warm water, ice water, in the class room and outside the classroom. We concluded that the higher the temperature, the warmer it was and the higher the number of degrees was.

As computer scientists, we have been learning how to resize an image. We enjoyed having a go on the interactive whiteboard. We learned that you need to select the image, wait for the box to appear around it and then use the arrows or circles to move it, spin it, make it bigger or make it smaller. We had great fun!

As mathematicians, we have been working systematically to recognise all the number bonds within 10. We extended our thinking to include bonds to 20 and then thought about whether number sentences were commutative or not. We recognised the pattern that addition sentences were commutative and subtraction sentences were not.
