Term 2 Week 2

What a great week we’ve had!

Year 2 will be going for a walk around Uphill village on Wednesday 16th November. We need a couple of parents to volunteer to come with us. Please email us if you are able to come.

Christmas is fast approaching and Year 2 will be holding a carol concert at St Nicholas’s Church by the park on Thursday 8th December at 2pm. In the meantime, if you would like to practice any songs with you children the links are below. We will be practicing them in school so please don’t worry.

Year 2 were very lucky this week to have a really special visitor, Jo, from Space Detectives. She taught us all about constellations and the order of the planets.

As writers this week we have written in the role of the Snail from our book The Snail and the Whale. We received a letter from our family in the dock and responded to them telling them all about our adventure with the whale. We used lots of thoughts and feelings in our writing, imagining how we would feel as the snail.

As mathematicians we have learnt all about how to partition numbers into tens and ones in different ways.

A big THANK YOU to Evie R’s mum for coming in to Jupiter Class this week to be our mystery reader. It was a lovely surprise and you brought a very funny book.
