Term 2 Week 3
What a busy (and cold!) week it has been!
As mathematicians, we have been focusing on addition. In particular we have been thinking about the order we add numbers. We have also been problem solving and investigated the statement ‘When adding the same 3 numbers together, you can add them in any order and get the same total, is this always, sometimes or never true?’ We decided that the statement is always true. We enjoyed working systematically to prove our answer.
As scientists, we thought about how solids and liquids could be measured. We discussed that solids could have their height or length measured in cm and their weight measured in g and that liquids could have their amount measured in ml. We found that some items had their weight or capacity already on them but others we needed to measure ourselves.
We loved measuring and completing a class set of results.
As musicians, we have started to learn the songs for the carol concert. We are really excited about performing and getting into the festive spirit.
