Term 3 Week 3

This week it was bird watching week!

As eco-warriors, we took part in the national birdwatch. Each class went around the field and used tally charts and binoculars to spot different types of birds. We were lucky as the rain just stopped as it was our turn!

As computer scientists, we completed our e-safety focus for this term which was ‘We can explain why anyone who experiences bullying is not to blame’

We discussed the words accidental and intentional and what they meant. We know that bullying is always intentional and we do not tolerate it in our school. We listened to a range of scenarios and had to decide whether we would be blamed or not. We know that bullying is not okay and it is when intentional incidents happen more than once. Online bullying happens with words whereas in person and be words or actions.

As scientists, we have continued to learn about how to keep healthy. This week we focused on exercise. We thought of a range of exercises and talked about how they are good for our bodies. It means we can keep fit and strong and strengthen our muscles. It also means we sleep better as we are tired and our bodies develop during this time too. We thought about how exercise makes us feel happy and allows us to be in different environments. Finally we thought about our hearts and lungs and tested to see what happens to them when we exercise. We concluded that it makes our hearts beat quicker, makes us sweat, makes us tired and out of breath.
