Wow, what an exciting week we have had.

This week as scientists we learnt all about circuits and even created our own. We found out what made an incomplete and a complete circuit and how it works.

We are continuing learning about Oliver Twist in our English lessons but this week we are learning to write in role as Oliver himself. We will be writing a diary entry all about his life in the cruel Victorian workhouse. We have discussed what Oliver might have been feeling and thinking during his time in the workhouse. We even hot seated some children and asked them (Oliver Twist) questions.

Our enquiry question this week is ‘who were the Victorians?’. We have found out lots of information about what their lives were like and all of the different jobs they did. We now know that there was a hierarchy in the Victorian times which put people into groups based on how much money their families had, this stopped people being able to do certain things.

We also had the opportunity to look at a census from 1901 of Uphill. We found lots of familiar names, ages and jobs.
