Term 3- Week 4
Week 4
What a fun week in Year 2!
This week as historians we moved to our next loop ‘What was life like for Victorian children?’. We had our WOW day and did lots of activities as historians. We got to explore Victorian artefacts from Weston Museum and learnt what it was like to go to school in the Victorian times. We weaved rag cloths and made butter with a butter churner. We made lots of different toys that Victorian children would have played with learnt lots about the lives of Victorian children, comparing them to our lives. What fun we had!
We continued reading Oliver Twist this week and discussed what it must have been feeling like after leaving the workhouse. We identified features of a diary and then started planning a diary entry if we were Oliver Twist. We knew this had to include what we had been doing, what we are going to do and our thoughts and feelings.
As mathematicians, we continued our learning of multiplication and division by looking at arrays. We made and drew them to help and show our understanding of multiplication.

In PE this week, Pluto class continued our football skills practice and moved on to moving and passing. We played through the gate and a new game called monster cave!
In Art this week we continued our mono-printing focus. We designed a simple picture and etched it onto styrofoam, ready to print with it next week.
