Term 3 Week 6
Happy Half Term!
As musicians, we have been creating our own rhythm patterns. First we recorded these on paper before using our bodies to clap or stamp out the rhythm we made.
As athletes, we have been learning the skill of an under arm throw before applying the skill to hit a target.
As historians, we have learned about some of the games that Victorian children played. We then had a go at making our own version of ‘the cup and ball’ game. We used a paper cup with a ball and string attached through the middle. The idea is that you swing the ball up and try to catch it with the cup.
As computer scientists we have finished our coding unit using Bee-bots. We finished by programming our own Bee Bot on the ipads using the skills that we have learned this term.
Internet Safety Week. In addition to our computing lessons we have taken part in internet safety week. We thought about how to keep ourselves safe online. We started by listening to a story and thought about how we would feel if we were the main character being targeted online. We then sorted cards into 2 groups: personal information that we shouldn’t share like our address and birthday and information that we can share like our favourite colours. We finished by taking part in a quiz thinking about who the trusted adult would be in each scenario and took part in a Live Lesson hosted by Maddie Moate from CBBC.
