Term 3- Week 7

Week 7

What a lovely week in Year 2!

We continued reading Oliver Twist this week and explored Oliver’s feelings at different parts of the story. We have been writing a letter to  as to Mr Brownlow explaining why we (Oliver) did not come back to him. We are trying to include apostrophes in our writing. We then edited it using a rubric to make sure it was our best work.

This week as historians we recapped over everything we have learnt this term in our enquiry of ‘Who has made the greatest difference?’. We will be ready to start our next loop after half term which is learning all about Florence Nightingale.

As mathematicians, we continued looking at division and used what we have learnt to solve word problems.

As scientists we learnt the importance of staying safe with electricity and made a poster to help others stay safe as well.

In PE this week, Pluto class continued working on our hand ball skills. We practiced dribbling and moving into space with the ball and then learnt how to do an accurate chest pass.

On Thursday we had a tag rugby session with some external coaches and we loved it! 8 children also enjoyed a multi-skills competition against other schools in Weston. They had so much fun and won 2nd place.
