Term 4- Week 2

Week 2

What a lovely week!

This week as historians we continued to learn about Florence Nightingale’s life and the differences she made to hospitals and nurses. We then wrote a biography of Florence’s life for our English this week. We used Talk for Writing strategies to make sure we could write an accurate report on her life and then wrote it up, making sure we used criteria such as the past tense, the third person and included accurate facts.

As mathematicians, we moved on from pictograms and started looking at block diagrams. We then recapped everything we have learnt to do with statistics to check our understanding.

This term our science project is the human body and health. This week we thought about the importance of exercise and recorded how our bodies feel after we exercise. We learnt about why are hearts beat faster after exercise and were able to explain using the words ‘oxygen’ and ‘pump’.
