Term 4-Week 2
What an interesting week we have had!
Thank you to everyone who entered our story in a jar competition and for those who attended our bed time stories evening on Wednesday. We also loved seeing all of the World Book Day costumes on Friday! We enjoyed our time to ‘stop and read’ throughout the day and the chance to really celebrate reading!
As writers this week, we have been using our skills throughout the week to write a letter to Queen Victoria from Florence Nightingale. We have been so impressed with the quality of the work.
As scientists, we have been thinking about Florence Nightingale and the vaccines which would have helped in that time of life. We have created videos explaining why vaccines are so important.
As mathematicians, we have been carrying on with division and looking at grouping and dividing by five and ten.
In computing, we have started a new enquiry where we will be looking at how to take an excellent photo by turning the ipad portrait or landscape. We tested out this theory on different objects in the classroom.
This week in our enquiry lesson we have been learning about how Florence Nightingale has changed our lives and what impact she had. We spoke about her impact on Covid-19 in the recent years as well as in the Victorian times.
We are really excited about our trip to ‘The SS Great Britain’ next week.
