Term 5 Week 3
We are half way through the term already!
As scientists we started to learn about habitats. Once we concluded what a habitat is, we enjoyed a walk around the school grounds to identify a variety of habitats and the wildlife and plant life that live here. We focused on the pond area and thought about why certain plants and animals rely on this habitat to survive.
As mathematicians, we have continued to learn about shape with a focus on symmetry. We learned about horizontal lines of symmetry and vertical lines of symmetry and used mirrors and folded shapes to explore how many lines of symmetry a variety of shapes have.
As artists, we looked at the work of 2 artists. Their names are Pete Cromer and Sarah Suplina. We were looking at their collage work and compared them to say what was similar and what was different. We talked about the techniques they used to create their work. We really enjoyed the art appreciation lesson and sharing how the pictures made us feel.
