Term 5- Week 4
Week 4
Another fantastic week in Year 2.
In English we have been busy finishing and publishing our persuasive leaflets about London. We have finished them with our best handwriting and pictures and they look amazing!
On Monday, as Historians, we investigated where The Great Fire of London started and why it spread. We plotted the events in a timeline and learnt lots of interesting facts and then learnt about Samuel Pepys and his famous diary.
On Thursday we had Samuel Pepys’ servant come in to talk to us about life in 1666 and the Great Fire of London. We learnt lots and had so much fun!
As mathematicians we have started learning time. We started with o’clock and half past and then moved on to quarter past and quarter to. We used learning clocks to help us.
In DT we have looked at our last mechanism, focusing on levers. This is to prepare us for an exciting project next week, based around our enquiry.
Jupiter Class have designed and made a catapult to help put out The Great Fire of London and Pluto Class will be doing this next week.
