Term 5 Week 5

We have had a busy end of term!

As scientists, we have continued to learn about habitats. We know that a habitat is a place where animals and plants live that has everything they need. This week, we extended our thinking and thought about what would happen to plants and animals if changes are made to their habitats. We asked questions then used search engines to find out the answers and share our findings with the class. We found this really interesting and thought provoking and sparked lots of class discussion.

Our questions included:

What would happen to the sloths is the rainforest had no rain?

What would happen to the sharks if there was no fish in the ocean?

What would happen to the polar bears if the ice caps melted?

What would happen to a penguin if it lived in the desert?

As mathematicians, we have been learning how to tell the time. We used cog clocks to learn o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter 2 before playing a matching game to match the written time to the clock. We needed to check carefully though as there were a few that didn’t match and tried to catch us out!
