Term 6- Week 1

Week 1

Welcome back! We have had a lovely first week back of our last term as Year 2.

In English we have been doing lots of SPaG and have recapped sentence types and adding suffixes to words such as -ful, -less, -ment and -ness.

We started our new enquiry this week which we were very excited about! This term we are investigating ‘How do animals survive?’ and we have lots of fun things planned as scientists. This week we thought about what we know and what we would like to find out. We then went on to learn about how we identify if something is alive. We used ‘MRS GREN’ to do a sorting activity and determined whether objects are alive, dead or never living.

In maths we have been continuing our time topic and have learnt to tell the time to 5 minutes. We investigated the best ways to measure different time and thought about hours and days as well.

Pluto class loved doing some relay races in PE. We have all also done some practise for sports day activities which we are very much looking forward to!

In music this week, we explored using the glockenspiel and played along with a song. We had to listen really carefully and repeat 4 notes.
