Welcome Back!!

We hope you all had a lovely half term and enjoyed the lovely sunny weather.

We have another brilliant term planned ahead of us. Our new enquiry is a science and geography one and our title is:

How is the environment changing?

We will be looking at how this is affecting the animals in our world.

It is also Art week this week. As artists we have been looking at all the techniques we’ve learnt this year, drawing, collaging and printing to create a habitat in an animals silhouette. We are absolutely amazed with the creations this week.

We are getting ready for sports day this term in PE. We have enjoyed practicing certain activities and will be adding more in every week.

As writers and authors we are looking at a new book, ‘The Rainbow Polar Bear’ by Michael Morpurgo. We have been predicting what the story might be about before we write a description about the polar bear.

As mathematicians, we have been looking at mass. We have been weighing, looking at capacity. We are beginning to become experts in this field.

We also compared 1g to 1kg!

As scientists, we have been classifying information. We have started to look at what living things need to survive and then been sorting animals into different groups.

As citizens, we have been looking at changes and what will happen in the days, weeks, months and years to come. Firstly, we looked at what happens to animals from birth to adulthood. We then looked at how we’ve changed in year 2. We discussed some changes are scary but they can be exciting and sometimes out of our control.
