Term 6 Week 2
It has been another busy week in Year 2!
As computer scientists, we had our termly e-safety lesson. This term our focus is to be able to describe and explain some rules for keeping personal information private. We started by discussing what personal information is (passwords, birthdays, addresses, full name) and then though about how to keep this information safe. Our ideas included not sharing passwords, saying we live in the South West of England rather than our street name and giving the season our birthday was in rather than the exact date. We then made posters offering advice about how to keep personal information safe.

As scientists, we presented our understanding of food chains using stacking cups to show the transfer of energy. We then asked the class if they agreed, disagreed or would like to challenge our food chain examples.

As citizens, we thought about changes that we can’t control and how they make us feel. We focused on lifecycles and growing up. We said that it would be boring to stay the same and that growing up means new opportunities. Some of these can be a worry but if we talk about them then we can share our worries and focus on the positives. Lots of us were looking forward to driving a car when we are older! We produced lifecycle pictures to show how humans, animals and plants all ‘grow up’ and follow a lifecycle and discussed the positive of each stage in the process.
